Each quarter, we have one-on-one check-in meetings for all employees. The meeting is between the manager and the employee and is a part of our performance management system. One week prior to the meeting, the employee is sent a link to a Google Form and asked to fill it out prior to the meeting. The manager reviews the form and prints it out for the meeting.
When the one-on-one meeting takes place, the employee walks the manager through his/her answers on the form. This helps to spark discussions and surfaces themes and topics that can highlight areas for improvement and specific action steps the employee can take after the meeting. The meeting is also an opportunity for the manager to gather feedback and find ways to improve working conditions for the employee to excel.
