Getting off to a positive start is important for any project. We rely on having an organized and well-planned kickoff to help us build momentum. Our Project Kickoff Deck comes in handy as it allows us to quickly put together a presentation following a time-tested agenda. Of course, based on the client and timeline, we may adjust certain items and add/remove parts as necessary. What we've put together here is a stock version that works for us 75% of the time.
We've stripped out all styling from this Keynote file, so it doesn't look pretty. If you're looking to buy this for a plug-and-play presentation, then you'll be disappointed. You'll get most out of this if you're curious about how we structure our kickoffs, what kinds of questions we ask, and how we align with our clients on the goals of the project.
This is a 20-slide presentation deck. We usually pull this up on a big screen TV and use it to guide our kickoff meetings. Our kickoffs take between 1 to 2 hours. The more people that are involved from the client's side, the longer the meeting will take as different stakeholders will take turns answering questions.
There are some overlapping questions in this deck and our Client Intake Questionnaire. We've found that it's worth repeating some of those questions again in a group setting because the questionnaire will often be answered by just one stakeholder who may not be able to provide all the answers (or all the different perspectives).
Take this template, make the tweaks and styling adjustments to fully make it your own, and give it a try. We hope this template is as much a timesaver for you as it has been for us.
This is an editable Keynote file (.key). We've also included a PDF in case you don't have Keynote.
